Stage C - finalisation
Timescale: 2-3 weeks, or shorter without process
verification
Stage C is when we finalise our decision. This is largely based
on the recommendation of the assessors, although we may need to take
further information into account.
When your completed assessment reaches our office, we will check
everything is in order. Your application will probably move
straight to registration at this point, provided you have paid the
application fee .
Every tenth assessment we receive back from
each lead assessor we
will send for external verification by a
process
verifier. This is similar to the internal verification
at Stage
B, and checks that the assessment process has been followed
properly, fairly and consistently. This is for your benefit, even
though it may delay your registration for a couple more
weeks.
When everything is ready, we will add you to the
register and your four-year period of
registration will begin. We will send you a confirmation letter and
a certificate. We will also send your casework back to you, unless
you have asked us to destroy it securely.
If the assessors have not recommended that we register you, we will
write to you explaining this. We will send you copies of the
comments they have made together with all your casework. You can
appeal against their decision, but if successful you will have to
go through the application process again. It might be better for
you to discuss your assessments with your employer and then reapply
at a later stage.
