Applying

We assess everyone who applies for registration using a robust scheme based on recent casework.

To register, you will first need an application pack. You can download the right one(s) from our specialties section. Alternatively, please contact us stating which specialty/ies you would like to apply for, and we will send you a pre-printed pack.

The process is straightforward. To make it even clearer, we have divided it up into three parts:

  • Stage A is the initial part of the application process.

  • Stage B is when our assessors scrutinise some of the recent casework you have done.

  • Stage C is when we finalise our decision.

We will invoice you for the application fee when we receive your application for assessment. You are liable for this fee, regardless of the outcome of your assessment or if you withdraw your application part way through. Please note that we cannot normally refund application fees either.

Registration is voluntary: there is no legal obligation upon you to apply. However, some organisations have started to make registration a condition of employment.
