If you already hold CRFP registration in your main
specialty and apply for registration in an additional specialty,
you will be asked to revalidate in all your registered specialties
on the third anniversary of your first registered specialty. This
means that you will have been registered for a shorter period in
your additional specialty. Your assessor will not normally ask you
to provide as much casework as in your main specialty.
We assess everyone who applies for registration using a robust
scheme based on recent casework.
We grant registration for periods of four years at a time, but
you must renew your registration on its anniversary every year.
Registration is about fitness to practise and current
competence, so every four years we revalidate your registration to
check you are still up to date.
If we remove your name from the register for non-disciplinary
reasons, you can apply to have it restored.
As a not-for-profit company, our aim is to keep our fees as low
as possible.
