Specialty assessors

Specialty assessors carry out the main part of the assessment and recommend whether or not to register an applicant. All our specialty assessors practise in their field and are themselves registered with us. Therefore you can be sure the person assessing you has already demonstrated to us the same level of competence in that specialty.

The specialty assessor receives a copy of your application from their lead assessor. They then select from your case log the cases about which they would like you to provide further detail.

Once the specialty assessor receives your case work, they will assess each case against the essential elements specific to your specialty and identify where you display the elements in your work. The specialty assessor will then make a recommendation for or against registration and send the completed assessment back to the lead assessor.

Specialty assessors can claim a fee of £40 for every application on which they carry out an assessment.
