Process verifiers
Scrutinising the process from outside are the process
verifiers. They are academics with experience in assessment
processes. Their role is to review a sample of the
assessments.
They check that
lead
and
specialty
assessors are not being unduly harsh or lenient, and
are following all procedures correctly. They also give us
confidence that the standard for entry to
the
register is consistent right
across the broad spectrum of
specialties.
Our process verifiers are:
- Brian Caddy, Professor of Forensic
Science, University of Strathclyde
- Reg Davis, Former Dean of Science &
Pro-Vice Chancellor, Kingston University
- Amanda Feggetter, Occupational Psychologist,
Ministry of Defence
We send every tenth assessment we receive back from each lead
assessor to one of the process verifiers selected at random. If the
process verifier is not satisfied, we or the assessors must follow
up their comments before the application can proceed any
further.
Process verifiers can
claim a fee of £40
for each external verification they complete.
