Accountability

To promote confidence in forensic practice, people have to have confidence in us. That's why we want everything we do to be open to scrutiny.

From the outset all members of the CRFP Board and Sector Assessment Panels have been subject to a Code of Practice . It is based on the principles of standards in public life - selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership - and is written into our Standing Orders . For more about standards in public life, please follow the link below.

We have also recently released a statement on accountability . The statement offers a vision of how our governance and procedures are likely to change in coming months. For the first time, we will be directly accountable to another party. The Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Constitutional Affairs, Lord Falconer, has agreed to take on this role.

Other elements, such as our freedom of information policy, have already been implemented. This policy means you can find out what discussions have and will take place at our Council, Board and Panel meetings.

We have also begun publishing an annual report . You can download the 2006 report here. Alternatively, please contact us and we will be happy to send you a printed copy.

The CRFP financial statements 31 March 2007 are now available to download.
